What’s included?

Estimates cover cacheable content. Origin and optional services are added only when you enter their rates. Plans differ in features and coverage; check their terms before buying.

Split traffic between regions

Percentages must total 100%. The same split applies to bytes and requests. CloudFront charges by serving edge location; this is an approximation. Shared free allowances are allocated proportionally.

Origin and optional services

Paid tiers start with this workload; estimates do not include other account traffic. Enter your own effective rates after origin allowances. Reads use request misses; egress uses byte fill. Functions assume one invocation per viewer request. Zero leaves an extra out of the estimate; it does not mean your origin is free.

Compare a quote you received

This is your quote, not a published provider price. Use an effective rate for the selected traffic mix; tiers, included usage and commitments need to be reflected in your inputs. Sharing a scenario includes your quote details.

Presets are starting assumptions, not measured traffic. Video assumes one rendition and segment GETs; playlists, retries and extra audio tracks add requests. Fill is a byte ratio, not a request cache-hit rate. GB = 1 billion bytes; Google bills GiB = 1,073,741,824 bytes; CloudFront estimates use binary GB as a billing assumption.

Overview

Vodafone’s delivery role includes an Open Caching partnership with Qwilt and Cisco. Caches embedded near access-network customers can supplement content delivery for broadcasters and application owners.

Vodafone Group’s corporate origin is 1984; that is not the launch date of this CDN arrangement. The partnership was announced in July 2023 and Vodafone is named in Qwilt’s 2025 deployment update.

Network

The July 2023 announcement followed an Italy trial and planned an initial seven-country rollout in Europe and Africa. Ask which countries and access networks are serving content under the current agreement.

Qwilt’s worldwide node total covers all its partners. Ask which Vodafone access networks and external audiences your delivery agreement reaches; a Vodafone cache-city list remains unconfirmed.

The Qwilt/Cisco partnership uses Open Caching for live video, on-demand video and application delivery. Standardized APIs connect the delivery systems.

For your project, ask how to configure origins, refresh content and retrieve request logs. If you need DRM, packaging or application security, include those requirements in the service discussion; their availability in this offer remains unconfirmed.

Pricing

Request a delivery quote for your audience and workload. Obtain the specific partner-delivery agreement and identify which organization bills it.

  • Confirm audience networks, countries and transfer units.
  • Include request fees, minimum commitments and support.
  • Separate encoding, ingest and other media services.

The calculator accepts a current effective delivery quote; a telecom connectivity rate or global partner node count is not a delivery price.

Developer tools

Onboarding is tied to the actual Vodafone/Qwilt delivery relationship. The announcement describes Open APIs. Ask the service team for the technical onboarding documents for your account.

Obtain domain/origin onboarding, authentication, caching/purge and reporting details. Test delivery and fallback on the access networks covered by your agreement.

Qwilt’s public Knowledge Base provides partner documentation. Confirm which instructions apply to the operator service and account; it is not a complete operator-specific CDN API contract.
