Overview

Telia Carrier provided global backbone and connectivity services. After Polhem Infra bought the business in June 2021, it adopted the Arelion name on January 19, 2022. The rebrand continued the network and services; use the Arelion profile for current products.

Network

The historical business operated the AS1299 IP backbone with fiber, connectivity PoPs and network-service endpoints. Use the sites to plan connectivity rather than HTTP caching.

For present coverage, use the successor’s Arelion profile and verify the actual connectivity product, ports and access sites. Quote connectivity and cache delivery separately.

Past features

The rebrand announcement lists backbone DDoS mitigation and routing security. Ask separately about application WAF and request logs if your project needs them.

Historical instant-purge, CDN configuration API and raw real-time cache-log claims are unconfirmed. For current connectivity and network protection, use the Arelion service documentation; quote HTTP caching separately if needed.

Use Arelion for current products and support. Confirm the legal supplier, contract and portal changes for your account before changing connectivity or application delivery.

Budgeting for a replacement

A former brand does not provide a separate current delivery tariff. Request the appropriate Arelion connectivity quote and distinguish it from a CDN transfer/request estimate.

  • Confirm port capacity, location and bandwidth commitment.
  • Specify the billing basis, burst policy and fixed fees.
  • Price the HTTP cache/CDN service separately when needed.

The CDN calculator cannot directly model a percentile-based or port-capacity contract as a simple per-GB rate without your own effective-rate assumptions.

The linked My Arelion material describes the current successor’s customer portal. It is useful for connectivity account management and support; it is not historical Telia Carrier cache configuration documentation.

Confirm network provisioning, BGP/routing requirements, usage reporting and escalation with Arelion. For cache purge, request logs or CDN automation, use the documentation of the delivery provider.
